UW School of Nursing
We are committed to providing access for learners whose location or other circumstances make alternative learning modalities appealing. We recognize that the choice to attend graduate school often competes with other life activities, so we strive to create a flexible learning environment.
Our distance learning is mainly focused on easing participation for learners in Washington state.
Examples of ways Distance Learning is promoted:
- Hybrid, web enhanced course work with online learning communities.
- Some courses offered totally online with no on-campus commitments.
- Phone conferencing for clinical seminar and case consultation.
- Video streamed skill building demonstrations and lecture content.
- Clinical practica placements located as close to your home as possible.
At this time our PMHNP program is not designed for students who are living outside of Washington State or those who can not commit to weekly attendance on campus.
Some courses include enhancements for video-streaming, video-conferencing, web learning and phone conferencing. We anticipate future capability with live audio and video web conferencing to Seattle campus classrooms from your home or work computer.
UW library and course web sites provide access to library materials, Powerpoint presentations and handouts, as well as web-based interactive learning activities (e.g. discussion boards).
